Looking for recommendations for a Browning X-bolt Speed in a .300 win mag. Bought it as a stock setup at Scheels. Put a Vortex Viper scope on it and the guys there put a Leupold rail and some Warne scope rings on it.

Was wondering what others thought of this setup and if there were any recommendations to setting it up with some better equipment. Was thinking about trying the Browning rails and scope rings, or some better options. Was also going to put the Browning Hawg muzzle brake on it. I was also wondering if it’s possible to put a rail on the bottom. Wanted to add a bipod, but I’m not a huge fan of the cheaper retractable bipods, i.e., Harris, Caldwell, etc, so was wanting to try something different but most things need a rail to mount on.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

There is nothing wrong with a Harris bipod.

If you want to put money into that rifle, upgrade the scope to something that has an exposed elevation turret and is of high quality, then spend the rest on ammo so you can use it at distance so it’s not another 100 yard backstrap eliminator. A suppressor helps a lot too.

Honestly, prob one of the biggest favors you could do for yourself with what you currently have is remount the rail, rings/scope if u didn’t see the process. Chances are, the guys at scheels probably didn’t degrease and loc tite. More of a “just to be safe” procedure.

Beyond that, rail and brake are good ideas. Additionally if we go by the rokslide approved parts list. Could get the swfa 3-15 for the resale price of ur viper, then u should be ready to rock
