Howdy All,

Anyone have 1st hand experience with the XB2 mountain pro rifles from Browning?

Either the carbon fiber barrel or the tungsten barrel?

Interested in a light weight mountain gun. The 6.5 creedmoor comes in right at 6 pounds, so pretty light for a factory rifle.

Would love hearing about any 1st hand experiences anyone has to share.

I had one in X bolt and it’s great, very accurate and repeatable. 6 lbs with the steel barrel.
Hard to beat for the $1100 I paid. In fact you can still find a few of the X bolts for a serious discount.
It’s a carbon stock, bedded to the action with cerakote and muzzle threads with a protector and a very effective brake.
I hand load and I’m shoting 143 eldx at 2750 out of the 22” barrel.
Factory was about 2650.
I was so happy with it I gave it to my daughter so she would have a nice reliable, accurate rifle.
I assume the X bolt 2 would be a little better but I am very happy with the original X bolt pro carbon.

I had an XBolt mountain Pro (Gen 1) and while it was nicely fit and finished I was disappointed that it came out heavier than advertised by more than a few ounces. I was willing to overlook the weight but not the trigger, even with a YoDave spring installed I could not get the pull weight below about 3.25pds and it was not near as crisp as some other good factory ones.

I would have polished the internals of the trigger but was unable to due to these weird pins/rivets in the trigger pack that make it unserviceable.
It went down the road promptly in favour of a Tikka.

I have the XB1 in 6.8W. I like it, but it kicks hard due to the low weight. Itbshouod be fine in 6.5CM.
