What can folks tell me about the Browning T-Bolt in 22LR? Looking to pickup a wood stock 22LR and the CZ 457 seems like the obvious choice but came across the T-Bolt and can't find much info on it.

Recently picked up an older model T-Bolt in great condition for cheap. Don’t know much about it but the kids have put a few hundred rounds through it and it’s good to go.

Rimfirecentral.com used to be a great resource but doesn't seem very active anymore.
That said, I would mine their Browning pages for information.
I always liked the T-bolt but have no experience with one.

They are very accurate and have probably the best magazines of any current rimfire Sporter. If you get the synthetic stock you get the bonus mag in the butt. The standard weight is very light. You may want the varmint model barrel to steady your shots.

The only flaw really is the boneheads designed the trigger spring to retain the bolt. If you lighten the trigger too much, then the bolt can fall out. There's no way to get as light a trigger as on similarly priced rifles. Replacing it with aftermarket won't do it because of the design. I can shoot it well, but I let shots go because the shot won't break in time. The trigger isn't light enough to steadily increase pressure and still break as quickly as is sometime necessary.

If your use doesn't risk losing the bolt, then you can replace the spring with lighter wire and it'd be as good as anything. I carry mine slung over a shoulder for many a mile every year.

I have one and my only complaint is the same as juju. The rifle is light and the trigger is to heavy. It's hard not to move the rifle while pulling the trigger.
