Browning (new) A5 experiences

Sndman, I’m interested in an a5 20 as well. Saw where I think you said the beretta a400 was in the running as well. The berettas I’ve shouldered have me looking way over the top of the rib, seeing all of it between the mid sight and the front.
The browning I see the bead, the beneilli montefrelto is about the same.
Does the beretta fit you and the browning a5?
Thanks

The Browning seems the most natural. I "feel" like it has a shorter LOP and the butt pad has a good shape to fit in my pocket.

The a400s I have looked at seem fine from an elevation stand point, I have noticed either with comb fit or pad shape that I have brought it up canted.

Kygunco has the A5s for a good price, no tax, and free shipping right now.

Right now, I am probably buying a Fabarms O/U or an A400.

All of those guns can be, and come with shims.

I have only had one A-400 I couldn't get shimmed correctly, it was a 20ga with kick off, needed more drop for myself. Regular A-400's haven't been an issue, or any of the Browning's, Benelli's, Winchester's.

Just saying how they shoulder in a store, isn't how they hafta stay.

I bought one of the newer A5s (camo finish 12 ga) in 2023. Took to Saskatchewan in 2023 and 2024 on some incredible duck/goose hunts....no issues whatsoever.

Ive always been a Browning fan, especially when it comes to shotguns. Love the humpbacks....been shooting them my whole life....a family tradition on my Dad's side. I have his Belgiam-made Sweet 16 right next to mine in the safe.

Was it patterning off or just didn't align when brought up? I can see a scenario where the kick off is flexing weird on recoil and moving the pattern off line. I think that has been the explanation with high Benelli's and their inflex system.

POA/POI issues. Just shot too tall for me.

I like a 50/50-60/40 as I don’t float the bird. The shims it came with, wouldn't produce enough drop for me, and someone was making more drop for the 12ga, but the 20ga has a slimmer receiver. I didn't feel like modifying it, so sold it. It hasn't been an issue with standard stocked A-400's. I really wanted to like that gun, but I just didn't get along with it.
