Any accuracy reports of the Browning max long range with the stainless barrel?

As a non reloader I’m always researching rifles that are accurate out of the box and have lots of factory ammo offerings.

Any other suggestions in the 1K range to look into?

Thanks

It’s not the max long range, but my hell’s canyon 30-06 would shot 1” groups at 300 with both factory ammo’s I tried. (180gr partitions and 168 TTSX). I’m sure the max will be very accurate as well.
Another option thats proving to be very accurate is the savage ultralite.

My 300 Win mag Max Long Range is a tack driver, same as my Hells Canyon Speed. Both shoot Federal TBT, Hornady ELDX and Barnes TTSX to less than 1" MOA. I had some custom loads worked up for my Max Long Range from Pendelton. A solid 0.5" MOA. Hornady ELDX 220 grain. Shot my elk at 505 yards!!!

I have a 30-06 Hells Canyon Speed and 6.5 PRC Max Long Range. Both hit where I aim using Hornady Precision Hunter.

Forgot to mention, just sent a Browning Western Hunter 28 Nosler to Pendelton to work up a load. Found 2 boxes of Hornady ELDX 162 grain and the rifle really liked them.

Wait, so you are paying somebody to find a load your gun likes? I didn’t know that was even a thing.

I have a hell’s canyon Max long range in 300PRC. Did not like the hunter precision so I’m working up a custom load for it with some heavier bullets. Either going 230gr Hornady A-Tips, the ELD-X, Berger 230gr, maybe even the Berger 245 EOL. But I may try a lighter round requiring a faster twist rate like the Hammer Hunter 214s.

Hendershots.net may have some custom loads built for whatever caliber you are looking at that you can try out.

I don't reload or have anywhere to shoot much over 150 yards. Spent over $400 shooting different loads in my 300 Win Mag. Everything shot pretty good, except Browning Ammo and some HSM, aweful groups. Wanting to set this up for western elk hunts I wanted to be able to verify shots and my scope to at least 500 yards. I also wanted to shoot a heavy for caliber bullet as the gun has a 1in8" twist. Not reloading I didn't have alot of options.

Sent the gun to Pendelton Ammo. They found a load with Hornady ELDX 220 grain, 2795 fps and 0.5 MOA! Shot the load out to I think 500 yards, can't remember to check drop and accuracy. Worth every penny. Shot my elk at 505 yards, spot on!!!! After shooting 6 boxes feeling out the gun I just ordered some more. Don't have to worry about someone having ammo in stock.

Doing the same with my 28 Nosler as I can't find ammo anywhere.

Thank you! Those are excellent groups!

Awesome! Did you find any issues with the faster twist rate with lighter bullets?

Thank you! This is helpful as I was hoping the faster twist rate didn’t make the rifle super picky for bullet weights but it sounds like it prefers heavier loads.

Congrats on the elk and thanks for the feedback!
