New to the forums so catching up on some stuff. Great
Photos guys. I will add that a BIG brown bear is awesome, average or small ones are not awesome. I tell my clients that on kodiak we are after 9' or better. Only reason you hunt a brown bear is for the size. They aren't pretty like a grizzly and their hair is different texture and mostly all big Browns are just that....brown. Whereas grizzly can come it a lot of different colors and phases. Sometimes with grizzly you will get a mature sow that's the same size as some mature boars. The size differences between the sexes is often less noticeable.
And as mentioned before they both act differently.

For the experience of killing a bear I'd go with a grizzly. If I had to choose between big grizz and big brown, I'd go brown. If i wanted one for a rug i'd go grizzly. For price, grizzly. For excitement, grizzly. For life size mount, big brown.
There's really no right or wrong answers.

I've never hunted interior grizzly. I have some field time with BB. With all due respect to the Bears. The brown bear is just as versatile, agile, and cunning as its interior brother. As far as the previous comment about mountain game, BB hunt Mt. Goat then run down to the beach for a salad with their meat. Just saying.....any bear can be found with its pants down if you work the wind and cover.
Luke, after seeing Mr. Sellens example of prime hides from his interior bear hunts I wouldn't hesitate to catch a grizzly for the hide. The SE BB is very wooly without the glorious dense gaurd hairs. Ask him to see Em if you haven't already.
