This subject has probably already been covered, but I have not been able to find a thread on it so I decided to start my own. I am looking for feedback from individuals that have this jacket and can attest to it's performance...either good or bad. Thank you in advance! :)

I’m curious how it would compare to the kuiu katana gale force jacket
havent seen a gale force jacket, but i have a sitka kelvin windstopper, the barneys has more loft, has abrasion patches on shoulders & under arms, removable insulated hood, & Event which seems better than goretex in things ive had....its also heavier than the kelvin & id expect it....the type jacket you want when its cold & shitty, or wished you had gotten

I would think that if you had a light puffer under the Brooks, you'd be very warm when glassing. I have a coat from Kryptyk that is pretty warm but it is heavy and bulky and takes up a lot of room in a pack when not in use.

How does the Brooks jacket compare to the Burner from Kuiu? Can anyone offer an opinion on that??

Appreciate all the insights! I saw in the Rokslide staff picks article that Kyle Virgin always packs the First Lite Brooks Range sweater for every trip because it's so lightweight and versatile—he said he uses it as an outer layer or under a shell and it packs away easily. Does the Brooks Range jacket have similar packability? Wondering how it compares in terms of warmth and bulk.
