So what weight are you shooting for elk? I'm shooting 100 g slick trick magnums. PSE X - force shooting around 64 lbs with plans to max out to 70 before taking on elk. Mainly hunt whitetails, I would like to stay close to my current set up. I'm blowing through deer with no issues but elk are a different cat.

i shoot 125gr swackers,have killed moose,deer,mt goats, bears & coyotes with them without issue & always amazed at how fast most critters die from them.they were actually called sonorans when they first came out.

Never shot an elk but I see 400g tossed around as the minimum weight for elk. I would say shoot the heaviest weight your comfortable with. I would also say shot placement is key just like any big game animal. Stay away from the shoulder.

My arrows are 480 grains. I shoot a 175 grain up front (50 grain brass insert and 125 grain head).

Shooting Trophy Taker Shuttle t lock and Terminal T locks because of the flight characteristics of these heads.

I shot a couple bulls with 100 grain slick tricks, both died quickly but neither passed through, 73 pound bow, 400 grain arrows twenty yard shots in the boiler room. I'll be shooting around 500 grains with lots of FOC this year.

I shoot 125 gr heads with 50 gr brass inserts to keep my foc and total arrow weight up. I've had quick kills and pass thrus on mature bulls with g5 tekan 2's. Magnus stinger 4blades and steel force phatheads have also performed very well for me on elk. Shot placement is EVERYTHING though.

I'm at 511 total arrow weight. With 125 slick trick mag head. I use this for everything I hunt.

I am shooting 125 grain Shuttle T and 125 grain Exodus, my arrows are coming in at 430 grain. The bow I am using is a PSE Vendetta XL with Omen Cams, 30" draw and 63 pounds. I have taken several elk with this setup and everyone has been a pass through from 18 yards to 56 yards.
