Been given one of these guns as a gift, it’s my first centrefire rifle and it’s a real pain to change it in Scotland, since it’s a gift I want to make the most of it rather than ditch it and rush off and get something new and shiney and avoid the fashion of must have the latest gear.

Any advice on custom stocks makers for these old BRNO guns? Anyone moded one?

I’m thinking ceracoat, Zeiss scope, Freyr silencer, maybe shorten the barrel for woodland manoeuvrability.

What caliber is it?

Nothing wrong with the action. Is this one of the CZ mounts system ones? Then you are stuck with that. Contact Optics Warehouse and Optics Trade one is in the UK the other in Slovenia. Both are the biggest optics supply places here in Europe.

Anyone can fit an aftermarket stock to that rifle. If you want carbon fiber, you have the outfit in Ireland. I prefer the GRS stocks from Norway. They make one that doesn't have an inlet and you can have a smith fit it.

New barrel fitment for a Mauser action could be done by any competent smith.

I think Border barrels moved from Scotland to New Zealand. But there is probably some other folks. I can do some research later.
