Breech Plug Question

Hey all, got a question for you seasoned muzzleloaders. I just got into it after 30 years. I got a screaming deal on a Knight Wolverine a few years back and bought it. I put a 209 conversion kit on it. After sighting in this year, no changes from last year, I only fired 3 rounds this year (no deer). I went to clean it and the breech plug would not come out. I finally got it out with some mechanical help. My question is, when I replace the breech plug, how can I avoid this? Is there a thread lube of some kind I should be using? Not screw it in very tight? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have lithium grease and an anti seize compound I use on my boat. I'll check them out. I am a reborn newby muzzy hunter. Any info is great.

Thanks. I am shooting Pyrodex 50-50 pellets. And I don't believe I put any lubricant/anti-seize on it. I believe that is my problem.
That’s definitely your problem.

777 is the worst for hard build up that will seize your plug, but a much better choice than Pyrodex overall.
