Brass hitting scope? Is there a fix?

I have a new Fieldcraft, that I mounted a Swfa 6x scope. The scope has large knobs. Today I shot my first range session and I noticed that all of the brass hit the scope knob during ejection. Some of the brass re entered the chamber. Is there a fix to this problem? I’m confident that I’m not the first person to experience this.

have the same problem on (just) one of my left handed bolt guns, rem 700 long action. i upgraded my scope to one with a parallax knob on the left and that seems to be bouncing the brass right back into the action. i have a rem 700 short action with a scope that has an even larger parallax knob, and no issues.

my guess is moving the scope forward or back a little, or getting one-higher rings will solve the issue, but neither of those is optimal.

Here are a few photos I took of the extraction. Looks like a lot of contact..

You can also file down the top corner of the extractor a little. If you google you can find an article that goes into depth on how to do it. It changes the angle the shells eject at to straight out instead of up and out.

Fixed the problem. I watched a few videos on length of pull and proper positioning on the stock. I had the scope mounted too far back for natural eye to scope alignment. After moving the scope forward, the brass ejects properly without hitting the turret.

Lesson learned, always double check sight alignment.

I was gonna say that scope looked to far back! I always start mounting a scope with the end of the eye piece just behind the tang (where a safety would be on tang safety rifles) and adjust from there.
