He was the first of the morning, first thing, so my day was made, but it was pretty decent action this morning and took the hook out of 4. Been pretty scratchy so far, fishing most days for 1-3 bites. Perfect weather today too, clear and cold

59" cobia from chesapeake bay [guided]

Blacktip [or spinner?] from the surf Vero beach, Florida.
I fish mostly for "the tug", and these two stick out in my mind as the two most fun/brutal fights. As a bonus though cobia also happen to taste heavenly

Three weeks ago I got to spend a day fishing in the Italian Alps near the Austrian border. Managed to catch a few marble trout, the biggest of the day was about 10” and it’s the one that’s pictured. They grow much bigger in larger rivers.

Not a monster but it’s the first time I have been out on the ice in 5 years. I got out of work and met up with a buddy we ended up jigging up a bunch of white perch and it was sunny and 60 degrees out.

I’ve only been able to catch two small natives so far. The hatchery has only had 266 make it so far. The broodstock program is suffering. I just hope they are running late and we get better numbers to come.

Best part about living in the panhandle of FL is fishing while a lot of the rest of the country is still solidly frozen. Slammed limits of three different inshore species for about two bucks in fuel in 70 degree WX yesterday. Such a sick part of the country
