Braggin Board for Fishing!

My first salt water catch. The place we stayed in Ft Meyers is no longer standing. I will be buying a fishing rod at every beach vacation destination from here on. For less than $100 for license and rod set up I can fish each morning while everyone is sleeping and each evening.

I know fishing goes hand in hand with hunting and I am honestly surprised that there isn't a "braggin board" for it so lets see those fish! Any catch from a dink to a monster post it up! Tell us how, where, method, lure, fly and whatever else you want too! Ill start it off, I love bass fishing and that's honestly what I spend most of my weekends doing. I am blessed and cursed to live in So Cal but this is one of the few blessings. Colorado, May 2020, Size 24 black sparkle back rs2. My mom and little brother were here visiting from missouri and got to see me catch it, along with my best friend. Easily the trout of a liftime and the people I love the most, cant beat that.

Catalina island, 2022 Bluefin tuna 80# about a mile off the east end of the island on a slow trolled Mackerel with 60# mono leader.

The photo is just outside of Avalon in front of the old casino.

Got into this kayak fishing thing during the pandemic when I was living in an apartment and couldn't use my boat. It's my #1 offseason pastime now. $0 fuel, $0 oil and filter changes, $0 property tax, $0 registration, $0 launch fees and no trailer required. I would have laughed if you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be into bass fishing from a kayak. This is double digit #2 in the last six months.

My buddy n me were fishing out of Whittier for a few days during summer solstice. We're 70 miles from anywhere. Our coolers are full. We kinda did a meat run back in those days. Get the seafood for the year. Ours n lot's of others as we did this often in his 22 foot Trophy.
It's midnight, the sun is up , whales breaching all around us. Dolphins hanging with the boat. Our arms are aching. Another shot of whiskey n beers.
I take time to look around me. The ocean is glass so it reflects the rugged snow capped mountains. The green spruce meet the ocean. A perfect split image. Halibut, golden eye's, salmon, the ocean never let's us know. It's all great man. We go into a little cove for the night. Wake n head towards huge glaciers. Salmon blurring the fish finder there is so many. Another glass ocean just cruising. No phones. Just AK and a good friend with a boat. We fed a few of families.
Going up remote little bitty water no one else would to see if we could. Break the boat, another night out. Bear tracks covering the ground. Usually raining. Then finding a great place with a nice beach n take a nap in the sun . Follow the rainbows down river for a couple days as they head towards deeper water for the winter. Leave the fish scraps on the beach n watch the eagles come have a snack.
Used to live on an island. After work I'd boat home. Tie up the boat. I kept a pole n salmon eggs on the dock. And drop a line n catch a few trout. Leave them on the dock n go have a cold beers. Watch the eagles that lived in the tree above the dock come n have a snack. Easy snack for the chicks. Then one lites n skims the lakes surface. Grabbing a fish, talons locked in. Back home n I just get watch.

Watching a small orca cruising around under the boat while we're anchored for the night. I'm standing on the deck behind the boat fileting a kazillion black bass watching it grab the scraps as I toss them under my feet. That was kinda cool too

Went up north to work for the week as a favor, worked Monday and the guy I was working with got sick… Tuesday I drove 1:45 minutes to meet him and he was sick and called it, then called the next day, then decided to call the week… crap!

Text my buddy to see if he had any trips the next few days and he did, so I figured I’d work for him and salvage the week, and it worked out really good… Thursday-Sunday, Saturday we had 2 trips, and killed a limit of rockfish and lings every trip (Saturday we killed over 100 lings)

Some crazy good quality too, Saturday afternoon we had 2 vermillion rockfish over 12# including one that was just over 12.5# on an odfw scale which makes it a state record… fun few days, and realized how much I missed charter fishing, so I’m going back for the summer
