For you guys shooting the new SR6 I’m curious if you guys are hitting IBO speeds. I’m not one for speed by any means, but I have a general area I like to try and be in and from all the calculations I’ve done I thought I was going to be in that ballpark and turns out I’m not. I’m shooting easton axis 340s that come in at a total of 501gr TAW with peep, kisser, d-loop on the string. The bow is set on performance setting at 27” draw and pulling 73lbs. That setup chrono’d at 259fps which from everything I’ve done mathematically wise I figured it would be jn the low 270s. I’m no Einstein so maybe my math is off or the bow needs some more tuning. Love to hear what some of you others that have shot this bow are getting out of it.

Just remember ibo is far more accurate to spec at longest draw setting on the mod or cam. I’m a 27 1/2 draw with a realmX and I don’t expect I’m even close to 260 FPS with 520g fmj 340. Your shorter draw is most likely why your math isn’t adding up

actually his math is correct. 352ibo with 350gr arrow 30" draw. 3" under 30" would be -30fps, 150gr over 350 would be -50fps and 35gr on strings is another 11fps loss. 3 pounds over ibo would get him roughly 5fps more so my math says he should be in the ball park of 266. That would be if his bow were hitting ibo which most dont. I have seen on several AT threads that the sr6 isnt super efficient with heavy arrows and most people are coming up shy. Seem to not have the same problem with ibo weight arrows though.

259 with a 500 grain arrow with a 27” draw. I think you’re doing pretty dang good. I don’t see many bows getting you into the low 270s with a 27” draw unless you’re pushing 80lbs.

I don't own the SR6 but shot one extensively this year as it was in the running for me. The SR6 is not speed efficient per its IBO with draw lengths under 29" and they don't like heavy arrows. There is a reason why the draw cycle gets to be harsher at 29 plus inches. At 28.5" it was 2 fps faster than the CT5 (340IBO) I decided on with a 415 grain arrow, same speed with a 450 grain arrow and 3 fps slower with a 500g arrow. I would say that under 29", the sr6 is realistically a 335-340 IBO bow. I actually was stunned at the results as I really liked the bow and decided to call bowtech about it. They told me that since the cams are adjustable, the lower the draw length the less efficient the cam will be since your not fully rotating the cam. They also told me that you need to figure in the weight of the speed nocks into the IBO calculator which I think is a bunch of crap. Sort of another way to fictitiously inflate the IBO rating. Its still a sweet bow that pumps out decent speeds but its not what they advertise.

One of the sweetest bows I've ever shot-and I was around before 'wheels'.Can't imagine not being happy hunting with that set up.
There is very little 'magic' in 11 feet more per second.(except perhaps noise/vibration)

I had an SR6 earlier this year. I also have a short draw 27.5” and was looking for a little extra speed. The bow is a smooth shooter and was nice. The finish wasn’t great (tooling marks, etc) but the bow was ok.

My problem with it was the speed. The bow for me was right around 340-342 IBO. I shot it with different arrow weights and at different draw lengths with the same results. I had access to a couple other bows from the shop I go too. We set those up and got pretty much the same results. The bow to me is not the speed bow the claim it is.

The flip side is I have an Elite Ritual 30 and that bow is exceeding it’s IBO rating by 2-4 FPS at my same 27.5” draw length.

If your looking for speed, IMO it’s not in the SR6.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that setup by any means. It’s just not what I expected out of it and have read multiple times through several searches that other individuals are not getting close to IBO with it. The bow itself is an awesome bow and I plan to keep the setup the way it is for probably years to come most likely. I suppose with a shorter draw length and the 501gr arrow the bow/cams itself is not efficient at those measures.

I have several SR6’s and all are calculating to a 350 IBO in the 28 and 28.5” draw slot.

Specs on the three

28/72.5
400 gr
312 fps

28.5/72
495 gr
284 fps

28/72
425 gr
303 fps
