Just looking to see what people have found as options if you are in a state that doesn't offer bowhunter education but perhaps you need it for a trip. For example, living in Kansas, we don't have the bowhunter ed requirement but Missouri does. I was able to get my certificate last year by taking a class in Missouri which wasn't too bad. I am now trying to get my father through a class so he can have his cert in case we want to use bows to hunt caribou in Alaska. Unfortunately, this year their offerings are pretty limited and they keep cancelling classes because they are less than 50% full.

Anyway, long story short, how are all of you getting your certs if you don't have a local option to take a class?

I believe you can do the test online. Then you would only have to find a place to do the half day outdoor part. May make it a little easier.

Can't you usually get past it if you can provide proof of having an archery permit in any state previously? I guess I never worry about it since I had to get one in MT.

What is odd about that is the MO class that I took was all in a classroom with no actual shooting skills assessments. Pretty lame really but that is all it was.

I don't think so. Pretty sure you have to have the fancy certificate.

I've never had the class either all the states I've hunted have accepted last years archery license as acceptable proof. I understand Alaska doesn't. Thanks for the reminder I need to get this done
