I have had some real bad willett. I have also had some that blow you out of your socks. Its a shame its so expensive to be so variable.

So jealous of you guys. Here in MN, bourbon is stupid expensive. I saw a bottle of Blantons for $199. Wellers, if you can ever find it, is about $150. Gonna make a run to Kentucky someday and fill my truck up!

There's also some deals in MN on good product if you look around though. When I was up at the cabin last week I grabbed a Heaven Hill BIB for $31 and a Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit for $50. Saved $10-$15 on each compared to here in SD.

Heck of a bottle of Pappy you have for first getting started! Stagg is by far my favorite drinker.

I always said I would never pay for Pappy.... 2 family members have shared theirs on special occassions, and I greatly appreciated it, but never thought I would have a bottle myself. Then my wife surprised me with that bottle as a 20th anniversary present....I'm a lucky guy.

I prefer the Peerless DO rye, but I agree, the Peerless DO stuff is fantastic.
