The closest archery shop is 20 miles from me. Doesn’t make it easy to get things set up the way I like when it’s 40 miles round trip every time I want to adjust something or try something new. I broke down and bought an arrow saw last year because I got tired of having someone else cut them and if I wanted to try different arrow tunings it was another ride all over the place.

I got the Ez Green press and built the draw board from plans online for about $40. Works perfectly.

Bow shops are far and few between these days it seems.

Post a link to those plans? I'm curious.

You don’t even need a plan. Get a 2x10. Mount a trailer winch from Lowe’s on one end centered. Leave about 8” extra behind the winch. Get a 3/4x6” piece of black threaded pipe nipple. A 3/4” mounting base for the pipe. Figure out the longest draw you’d encounter and add about 12” and mount the flange toward the forward edge so that the winch hook is not perfectly square with the pip nipple Add a turn buckle and a couple 200lbs hooks for fine adjustments. Put some vinyl clear tubing over the pipe nipple. I used tool box drawer liner doubled up on the end to keep the bow riser from getting any blemishes from the wood or pipe flange.

Easy. I’ll put up some pics.

I had the board and the turn buckles and clevises. The winch was $43. If you buy everything it’s less than $60.

I bought a boat strap winch brand new on Ebay for $20. And used a large screw in padded hook from Harbor Freight $2 and lastly a 2x6 I had in the garage. Then I screwed down an old tape measure blade in the appropriate place and bingo.

Princess Auto sells winches for $15 on sale that take 3/8" nylon rope. They work fine for the draw board, and I have one rigged for raising my truck canopy up and storing it in the shed as well...makes canopy removal and installation an easy one man job.

Good job by the original poster to build his draw board. You need one. Pipe bow press works great too and cost me almost nothing to build, and works quick, safe and easy. Google them on archery talk.

So here’s what I put together. I had the board laying around from another project as well as the clevises. The padding is double layer of tool. I’d drawer liner stapled on. All the hardware is mounted to the board with 1 1/2” lag screws.
