Has anyone hunted this unit? I hear there are a lot of bears there and am thinking of picking up a OTC with CAPS tag.

I haven't hunted it but I have spoken to friends that have hunted bear and elk there. My buddy killed a bear the first day with a rifle. The only problem that I see with your plan is that I would bet that that OTC with caps tags for Bosque Del Oso sells out within the first 2 minutes or less when they go on sale first come-first serve. So unless you are first in line and have a lightning quick "license agent" you probably wont get the tag. I only say that because in Colorado the Bosque Del Oso is one of the only high point draw bear areas in the state and it is well known to be a good place to kill a bear.

I have attempted to do what you are talking about in years past and everytime I have tried all the tags were already sold out by the time the license agent enters the code and hits submit. Maybe you could go to a flyfishing shop (where they sell licenses) the day before and see if they would be willing to assist you in the snatching a tag ASAP at 9am the next day.

Good luck, the hardest part will be getting the tag.
