Broke my leg, dislocated my ankle, tore all my ligaments….8 screws,4bolts, and a plate later……all I’ve thought about for the last 10 weeks has been hunting!

Looking for advice on boots from anyone who has had a similar injury and came back to hunting? Has anyone tried the kenetrek ortho boots? Or will a stiff boot do just fine? Should I go taller boots?

I normally wear the lathrip and sons, or a crispi Thor elk hunting

On a side note my foot/ankle is still pretty swelled up would sheep feet or something custom help me with insoles if my feet are going to be so much different for the upcoming season?

I broke an ankle (talus fracture) years ago and tore a bunch of ligaments but never wore anything special. I just wore what I already had and for a lot of things that was just low top approach shoes. The ligaments are what’s going to take the longest to get back. They are slow to knit and heal and are initially really stiff and inflexible. You’ll continue to stretch and micro tear them in the months to come getting your ankle mobility back. I still don’t have the full mobility that I originally did and never will but I don’t notice anymore and it doesn’t hinder me at all.
