Boot Month: Review Lathrop & Sons Tech-Lite Hunter by Luke Moffat

Luke, thanks for doing that, and I hope that "Robby guy" pays up. I'm sure the results would only increase with added time for the leather to soak up moisture. That's my only complaint with full leather boots is once they get soaked they get heavy and take some time to dry (granted my feet are dry). Plus, if the next morning is below freezing (more often then not) you have the fun task of getting into a frozen block of ice.

Thanks again and have fun at SHOT

Jake

Luke, didn't your momma ever teach you the proverb about not jumping off a cliff just cause your friends said to?

I'll get even with you Thursday.

Looks like the bigger boot absorbs more but it might just be proportional to size.

Yup looks like both boots increased in weight when soaked by about 15% or so.

Nice review Luke, thank you for that! Any issues with the fabric tongue area of the boot showing any wear or early signs of potential failure?.....or do they vent better because of that fabric area? Thanks again!

Luke looking at giving these a try, I too currently run Lowa hunters and have been happy with them but would like to shed some weight. I am interested if you found the sizing runs the same between the hunters and the tech-lites?

For me they seem to be the same, but that doesn't mean that will be the case for everyone. You'll know if they fit out of the box I would think if they are a half size one way or the other compared to the hunters than just send them back and reorder accordingly

Thanks Luke for the report. Was going to get another pair of Kennetreks but your review swayed me. Stay warm up there!
