Put a new scope on a rifle and proceeded to bore sight at 40 yards. Was using a box of cheap factory ammo I have laying around to get on paper. First shot was good, actually about 2 inches off dead center. The second round pounded my shoulder and twisted my wrist. The target hole was above and to the right of the first shot by about 6 inches. Bolt handle went up into the cock position however the case was stuck in the chamber. Put a shooting glove over the handle and gave a couple of sharp hits with a small mallet to get the case loose. I will check out the barrel and bolt tomorrow to see if there was any damage. I posted the photo to show what happens to a case head when a round goes over pressure. For newbies please be advised that this round was WAY too much over pressure! When working up a load, If you see a slight ejector, extractor mark or the primer just starts to flatten, back it down some. Once again I was using factory ammo not my handloads.

That is a wild looking primer. Looks similar to this one: https://ultimatereloader.com/wp-con...rs-after-High-Pressure-Test-2500-1200x655.jpg

That is crazy. I had pressure spike on me with my 6.5 PRC. Apparently it built a carbon ring. I shoot suppressed so that increases the build up. Only shooting factory ammo. Hornady 143 ELDX. Well I got a bump with a heavy bolt lift. Try to put another round in and hard chamber. Tried to eject and it was a hard extraction. It pulled the bullet right out of the case. After removing the bullet scoped the barrel major carbon ring. Cleaned and cleaned. Finally it will chambers without scratching the bullet.
