Bombproof Gaiters?

Me and a buddy both had the strap buckles break this year on our OR cross. The velcro that closes by the lace hook also fell apart on his. Little disappointed. Never had a problem with my older kenetreks. Considering SG ones.

Purchased Kenetrek gaiters about 3 years ago and they have been very good until the last year. Hunting last week in MT the inside of my gaiters and lower legs/socks and boots were soaked after a morining hunt in wet conditions. Gaiters were actually holding in the water and had to take them off to dry out when the sun came out. My hunting partner was using PEAX gaiters and was dry. They worked great for a couple of years but went in the garbage when I arrived home. Will look closely at OR and PEAX to replace.

I have had the outdoor research gaiters for years now and they are still working well. It’s hard to pay the extra cost of some of the other brands for marginal to no gain. I will be buying another OR pair when mine wear out.

I just replaced a pair of Kuiu Kutana gaiters that stood up to 4 years of hard, regular use before tearing. Like 70-80 days a year between shed hunting and deer season in the PNW. Lots of thick understory vegetation and rock slides. I picked up the newly redesigned OR Croc and they seem to be really well built. I had another pair of Crocs prior to the Kuiu set that held up to some serious abuse. I'd recommend either of those.

I use Stone Glacier and T&K hunting gaiters. Both are fantastic gaiters. SG are a little lighter but the T&K are a lot more durable and easier to adjust. I wore the T&K on my son’s elk hunt last year and he wore my SG. I preferred the T&K. I wore the SG on my daughter’s youth turkey hunt this spring in pretty rocky terrain with lots of cactus and I should have worn the T&K…. I don’t like pulling cactus needles out of my shins and calves. I’ll probably get a second pair of the T&K but in the lower version for archery elk for the mountains when it’s dry and hot.

check out ape equipment their gators have been getting great reviews.
Yukons are pretty bombproof used and abused mine and there still holding out great after many years.
i picked up stone glaciers last year to try and they seem good but the lace hook always comes off, i never got that with the yukons.

Tried the first lite recently and they just slide down to my ankles. Looks like some great suggestions here to look into!

Any gaiters without the velcro strip? I hate that when I need to take them off and adjust something on my boots in the woods.

I’ve been using OR crocodiles for years. Any other these other options a bit more breathable? My legs get sweaty in all but the coldest/snowy conditions. Want to try something different for this falls September/oct hunts.

Looking for a set of gaiters that are on the light weight and packable side. Gonna be needing them for snow, so would like high calf size. Let me know what you have had success with!
Outdoor Research are the toughest ai have found, but heavier. My Kenetreks are lighter and durable.
