Bolt on Browning X-Bolt 2 Won't Lift All the Way Up

I bought a brand new Browning X-Bolt 2 last week. Did 20 break in shots as recommended on the Browning website. Then 5 shots later, the bolt wouldn't lift to its highest position and open/eject. I was using handloads but was way under max with zero pressure signs and relatively low velocity reading on the chronograph. Rifle was cleaned and I always run a clean patch through and look down the bore before going to the range and shooting. I called Browning and have arranged to send the rifle back for inspection and possible repair. Is this a common problem with Browning X Bolts? I never had this problem with any of the other rifles from Remington, Ruger, Winchester, Tikka, Mauser, etc. that I've owned for well over 60 years.

Its either something jamming up the lugs like a loose primer, base fastener, or just heavy bolt lift.

Heavy bolt lift can be heavy from the start, or pretty easy until the top of the stroke where it gets hard. They call this clickers. Both heavy bolt lifts would be a hit it with your purse situation.

Can you check to make sure that the bolt unlock button and mechanism isn't binding or interfering?

I don't have an Xbolt so don't know what the access is like, but can you shine a light or use a feeler to make sure that the locking pin is fully disengaged?

If it’s due to a stuck case, the bolt should give some, due to the elasticity of the brass. There will be a tiny bit of spongy feeling to the bolt lift when it stops. In this case, a hard whack on the bolt handle to lift it, and then a cleaning rod down the bore to tap the case out.

If it’s the locking pin to the bolt, it will be a hard stop, steel on steel.

Have you taken the BA out of the stock? Might give you a better look.

With moderate constant pressure on the bolt handle, bouncing a cleaning rod off the inside of the case will dislodge it. Those who beat the bolt handle open are also in the company of those who break the bolt handle off, or break the extractor.

Thank you!

Yes, and I agree on not beating on the bolt handle - this is a brand new rifle, and I'd rather have Browning deal with it. Thanks for your input.
