Then they could have moved it so they weren't blocking the road.

Not saying it was this way, but without a strap, it’s likely not moving.
Ran into something similar years ago…two track with steep sides and guy broke down.
Although, He was aware enough to apologize in his note that was left on the windshield for blocking the road.
Anyway, I parked in front of his truck, and hiked the extra 2 miles and went hunting.

Not saying I'd drive the last mile and hunt the area behind the blocking truck afterwards... I'd consider my fuel system tag filled and head elsewhere!

I don't hunt NM... but appreciate the tip on the "different" folks in north central.

In fairness, someone has to be a real douche to incur my wrath in the woods. It sounded from the OP's post that this was a pretty clear-cut case. But hard to know without boots on the ground.

Couple years ago I went to check out an area during rifle season and the access road to the area that was one main artery that branched out to different roads had a camp set up on the road! So I basically needed to drive through these peoples camp to get into that area. The camp had a few people in it when I arrived that were mad dogging me like I was trespassing... I just turned around and left, but I should have called them in.

I thought about getting one of my chains out and dragging the truck out of the way, but knew it would lead to an massive altercation once we got to the top of the ridge.

I enjoy hunting CO but it has just ground on me all of the negative experiences I have encountered over the last 10+ years. The good part is I still run into good people around trailheads or town that you share coffee or stories with that keep me coming back.

Sad, but happens all the time. Not just hunter either. NF by the house people leave their rv's, trailers for months in the same spot. FS does absolutely nothing about it. I have to laugh at some of them going as far as putting a chain up across the campsite . The only time the FS will act if it is blocking a fire road? Whatever that means. The Dove hunting story is getting worse every year, very few sportsman with manners out there anymore.

Point is, you never know who you might be dealing with or getting into a tangle with.

Some locals pretend the nearby woods are their backyards.

Some outfitters/guides pretend the same thing.

It would be "karma" I guess to find the same thing happening to yourself what was done to them by them is all...

From that picture, it's hard to tell what is under the brush on the left side, but it appears going around on the right side is doable.

The truck could have easily had a couple valve stems broken off as he was parking.

My family owns a cabin in the sierras. There is a public FS road with an easement that runs thru private property, accessing FS land at the back end of a canyon.

One property owner did not like the unwashed public using “his” road to access public land. So he would push huge boulders into the road with his tractor. The FS ultimately let him get away with it and said it was a low priority road and they lacked the resources to move the boulders back and fight the guy. The road is effectively now closed. All due to one man and an axe to grind. It happens.

Valve stems can sometimes unthread and fall out because of mountain roads that are semi-bumpy at places.

I would say he might have had an "e-poo" but shoulda pulled off a little more.

I wouldn't damage anyone's vehicle in that situation. But a small pebble in the valve stem cap will let the air out really slow.

If I run in to them and I didn't think they could figure out which vehicle I had, I would have words with them. I also would possibly just go set up a camp where I wanted to go.

You seem to find nothing wrong w blocking others like that. I think the truck should be torched and pulled out of the way once it cools off.
