Just showing people to think outside of the box. You can do the same thing without chain links via a directional figure 8 to hang quarters and etc. We did it to a guy's bow with 550 cord that derailed 4 miles in to get it restrung.

Cool idea based on the z-drag concept using carabiners, but shrunk down to chain link size. Thanks for the link.

Link to basic z-drag principles, which are pretty handy to know when you don't have a come along or winch.

We did the retrievable rope bridge in the USMC. Some guys went to assault climbers school where they learned this and taught the rest of the company but that is another story.

I saw a video of an elk that died in a crevice of a rock pile after being shot and it always made me wonder how you would go about handling it in the backcountry without a come-along or equipment. because of that video I always have enough rope with me to hopefully be ale to come up with a system like this to get a kill out of a spot like that or lift a heavy load of some sort. pretty cool
