I was out on Wednesday morning evening and saw two bucks that were chasing does. I shot one in the evening that was definitely rutting.
Nice buck! I've killed some great 2 points but am still on my mission for a big blacktail. Someday

Took a shot with my bow at a decent buck last night right at the end of hunting light. Didn't have time to range and underestimated, arrow went just under his chest. Bucks are definitely following does around here on the island.

I just watched an interesting video from Pen State regarding moon phases and whitetail deer movement using GPS and they found that the moon has no effect on deer habits and it is a " wifes tail " so to speak.

Some awesome blacktails on this thread. Have you ever saw or got that buck on trail camera Sundance? Dream buck
Negative, this was the first time I ever saw him but not uncommon genetics for that area. I stopped running cameras about 5 years ago and now just hunt based off historic experience. Before having kids I’d run 10-15 cameras a year to catalog deer but I don’t have the time anymore.

I hunt the Sauk unit and got the quality late hunt for modern this year and it paid off!

caught in a rut zone with a doe and some satellite bucks.
amazing buck! a friend of mine sent me pics of that deer, he is amazing, and it sounds like the actual hunt was epic.... not many will have a blacktail hunt unfold as yours did..... those little moments in time that the experience is as much of a trophy as the huge buck itself..... adds a lot to the animal having that type of experience connected to it.

my best blacktail was a similar experience, and was the coolest blacktail scene i have had.... those bucks are hard to top, especially considering the encounter that led to them.

huge congrats on a classic giant blacktail!
