I am shooting 115grains pf BH209 by weight and averaging 2550fps when powder temp is 97F.

I would like to know (without me having to do testing) how much I can expect the velocities to drop throughout the powder temp ranges down to around 32F. Honestly, I'll take whatever temp data you have.

More details:
45 cal, 300grain traditional cup & core bullet, no sabot/patch/etc, large rifle magnum Primers, 26" barrel, custom rem 700 action build.

Thanks for your help.

I’ll be interested if anyone has actually tested this. Hodgdon claims temp has zero effect on performance but doesn’t outright state that velocity is unchanged. I’ve come to the conclusion with my setup that 100fps swings or huge elevation changes don’t make enough difference to warrant thinking about with iron sights out to 300y

I've seen 50fps swing north of 90 F on accident. I can pull data when I'm back home.

Likely will swing less at lower Temps. That's my guess.

I'm shooting out to 650 so it matters to me.

This is what I have so far on small sample size using garmin xero chrono. Not as dramatic as I remembered, but still significant.

Not to over resolve with what little data I have so far, but looks like swings are steeper as Temps are higher. This is fairly predictable, so makes since.
