I thought the 7mm-08 was only for wimmens and children.

Yes I'm a baby! Only been hunting for a few years so I ain't got the breadth of experience many roksliders have.

The mighty-08 hasn't let me down yet in the seasons I've been able to connect with deers so far!

First few years I was shooting nosler partition bullets, haven't been able to find those easily since the pandemic other than the stash my old man left behind so I've switched to hornady vmax and SSTs for the time being. Got some hornady cx as well but I dunno if I'm gonna get serious about mono bullets unless I actually go to Cali or other places that ban lead projectiles.

Actually gonna be using slugs this season as I got an opportunity to hunt on one of the islands in WA where it's got firearm restrictions limiting to archery, muzzie or shotguns.

If you were stuck slug hunting would you go 12 or 20 gauge?

@Pharmseller 4-500ish hopefully closer but it’s rough country and close is a rarity. I have to use mono’s in California otherwise I’d use something smaller. I don’t trust monos yet and since DRT won’t ship to home in California that’s what I’m stuck with.

Can’t argue with your reasoning.

Gotta handfull of stuff that might get the nod. But I bet It'll be the same 243 with 105bthp's as most years. Or a 223. Might even try a 70+gr bullet an see if it kills em deader than the 55's do

260 Rem, 140 ELDMs for alpine hunting. But, also hoping to get a .243 set up to shoot 108 ELDMs.
Will probably hunt the rut with an AR-15, 223 with 77TMK.
