Black ovis/camofire going out of business?

There were a few BO employees on here as I rec'd comments on WTB ads in the classifieds. 'I work for BO and we can help with this'. I wander if they will post up or keep to themselves. I feel for the workers who are losing their jobs this close to the holidays.

I sent that member a DM a couple weeks ago asking about something and I’ve gotten no response. I figured he was out hunting……. Not the case now

I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard from Kendall or anyone else prominent with BlackOvis.

For a guy (and company) who have been known to be stand up, honest, with great CS - it is very poor taste that all they did was write on their website/social media that they are done, and that's it.

Maybe there is something legally that they need to work out before they can make some sort of insightful announcement/release of info?

Not necessarily. Could be a marketing thing.

Otherwise "Made in the USA" products wouldn't be around very long.

I think you answered your own question. In situations like this anybody in a position that would warrant a do not compete clause in their contract is typically also given a set of confidentiality standards to abide by that generally include the business being sold, filing for bankruptcy, etc.

Not sure what happened but Black Ovis, Crispi, Peax, Go Hunt and onX are at the top of my list of hunting brands that have over influenced, it comes off as inauthentic and desperate and I believe actually drives away sales.

If the bank indeed foreclosed and seized assets, the most likely scenario is hiring a liquidation firm to just come in and assume control of distribution to sell whatever is left either on BO's site or ebay account.

I bet they're not holding much product anyway, though.

From the sounds of it I’m guessing they’ve got quite a bit of inventory. Their warehouse in Utah isn’t small by any mean, and we have examples like the owner of Aziak saying they’re out multiple thousands of dollars of inventory.

As an example, I called Crispi yesterday to see if they knew anything since Kendall was/is involved/owner of both. Turns out Kendall sold his stake in both Crispi and BO several years ago, and BO just received a MASSIVE shipment of boots from Crispi last week (per the guy I spoke with yesterday). Crispi had no idea and found out on Facebook just like so many other people. It sounds like they’ve got some decent inventory of at least some products.

EDIT: Just watched the Aziak video below and noticed he mentioned Kendall by name as a big wig. Guess he didn’t sell his stake in BO, but he is no longer affiliated with Crispi from my conversation with them. Too bad how it was handled, I always liked his videos and he seems like a stand up dude.

That’s what’s odd to me, if it was chapter 11, there should have been a lead up to closing doors. This abruptness about it is odd. Maybe there will be a post close sale or something locally but it’s kind of odd

Wow, that's a whole bunch of BS. Thought Kendall sold his shares of BO awhile ago.
If this is all true hopefully they'll be shunned by the whole industry, and may misfortune follow them around as karma.
