Black Bear Hunting - Alaska 2025

I was looking for feedback on hunting Alaskan black bear in the summer of 2025 (early to mid June). I am considering going with Bushwack Alaska for their black bear hunt. They are somewhat pricey and I was looking to see if it was worth the investment. I have never hunted bears before but wanted to get some novice experience with a seasoned outfitter.

They hunt out of Iliamna, Alaska. Per the guide whom I’ve spoken with on two separate occasions, you can get three bear tags and add on a wolf tag. 7 day spot and stalk from a remote camp. Price is $8500 for one hunter. Per the guide, bear success rates are very high. Thanks for any advice or feedback.

Spoke to him last week and he indicated they had a lodge available if desired.

I personally know the previous owner, current manager, and one of the bear guides. Excellent outfit with great success rates. I highly recommend going with Bushwhack!
