For the long term BTC and ETH are the major players. The other hundred thousand alts are just that, alts. Buying and selling alts can get expensive for the average guy percentage wise.

I have no long term strategy. I'm holding a full BTC I paid 53,210 for. If I ever need the money I'm going to sell it. I'm retired so I think differently about long term investing. If I were to advise anyone, I would say BTC and ETH only and watch the market closely. You can get hurt in the short term so only invest what you don't need access to in the short term.

Just found this thread. Curious - what our everyone's goals around their belief and investment around BTC?

2/3rds of my total Bitcoin is now held as ETFs in my self managed IRA. Those ETfs are up ~90% currently. My strategy is this: use my 401k for the slow, boring reliable growth. With my self managed accounts, I'm willing to accept more of a risk to reward ratio, so that account is currently sitting at 66% BTC and ETH. No plans to touch either for the foreseeable future as the strategy is to use those holdings to supercharge my retirement accounts in a tax free account. I expect we'll see staking for the Ethereum ETfs in the near future so that should start paying a ~2% interest return. My holdings in Ethereum and Bitcoin are about equal, though I hold much more actual Ethereum vs ETfs since since it offers staking returns which have been growing or the last ~6 years or so.

If my calculations are correct, that's about 85.71 ETH. That's quite the stack.

Goals=Protect the fruit of my 42 years of labor from our Governments accelerating debasement of the US Dollar.

Belief=We are in the beginning stages of institutional and Nation state adoption of BTC as a store of value. Retail will follow. I believe BTC will surpass Golds market cap within 5 years.


As of now I have 3x'd my investment in BTC.
