Anyone here trading BTC like a stock? Or is it a buy and hold for most of you?

I’ve bought and am holding about as much BTC as I am comfortable with in terms of % of portfolio. I also have one of the BTC ETFs that I trade…again my comfort level.
I’m 65 and retired so I’m relatively conservative in my investment strategy. If I were young and had time on my side as a hedge, I would have a much, much greater % of portfolio invested.

Hash rate is at a new all time high. Btc,Mstr, and Gme are cooking. I backed the truck up and loaded up on msty this morning. Could be Bitcoins time to shine and off we go. Or it's lagging a few days and we get hammered Monday . Either way, we know where we are going

In April 2024 an oz of gold was $2,388 at its high, April 2025 an oz of gold was $3,168 for its all time high.

So $3,168 US dollars subtract $2,388 US dollars….according to my calculations is $780 US dollars.

That’s a gain of 24% not bad not bad.

In April 2024 1 BTC was $63,821. In April 2025 the current price is $83,830.

So $83,830 US dollars subtract $63,821 US dollars…. Doing math….. is $20,009 US dollars.

That’s a gain of 23.8%

I didn’t even use BTC ATH price for this math lesson. So you’re telling me when gold hits its ATH it still can’t outperform BTC even after it has a pullback from an ATH.

I've been selling my BTC miner stocks in my brokerage account and reinvesting the proceeds into MSTY. I am planning to live off the dividends as my business is slowly winding down.

IBIT from Blackrock and FBTC from Fidelity are both Bitcoin ETF's that you can invest in within your IRA. I own both in my Roth IRA, traditional IRA, HSA and my non tax advantaged brokerage fund. There are others but these are the two that I trust and have invested in. Maybe some other members will chime in on alternative Bitcoin ETF's. If you want more risk with potentially more gain you may consider MSTR. I own a significant amount of MSTR spread throughout my aforementioned accounts. MSTR is much more volatile than Bitcoin itself or Bitcoin ETF's like IBIT and FBTC but should outperform in the long run.

Thanks. I was was telling my 18yr old son that I am in the process of moving my Simple IRA away from Edward Jones and putting it in a traditional IRA. He said "put it all in Bitcoin". I actually thought about it a while back.
