Im curious what folks out there recommend as a Bipod for a hunting rifle. I'd like something that i can detach easily and then add when i need it. Spartan Precision bipods are one option similar to what i am looking for.
The one i currently have is too much when carrying the rifle and its banging on brush and other stuff. So i think it would be much better to have one that just snaps on if you get to where you need to make a longer shot . Any suggestions

So I had 2 spartan bipods. That design is lightweight and easy to pack but has limitations as a result. I prefer a bipod with more versatility. I landed on the MDT single pull for hunting. That paired with a HNT26 folded up is a pretty compact package and weighs sub 11lbs. In the event I need something taller I shoot off my tripod.

I’m a big fan of the Hatch Outwest bipods. Super fast to deploy and tall enough for sitting behind or shooting in steep terrain. They don’t attach as quickly as a Spartan, but if you have a pic rail on your rifle they are relatively quick to attach/detach.

For exactly what you want light hunting rifle, quick on off, zero rattle in brush, the top three real world winners right now are

Spartan Javelin Pro Hunt- still the king. Magnetic QD in 2 seconds, carbon legs, 7–9 oz, dead silent. $320 ish but you’ll never buy another.

Spartan Javelin Lite– same system, fixed legs, 6 oz, $220. Most guys end up here and call it perfect.

Accu Tac FC-5 G2 QD– heavier 26 oz and pricier, but if you want bombproof pan can't and Arca Swiss built in, it’s stupid stable and still quick detach.

99% of mountain stalk hunters I know who’ve tried the Spartan magnetic system ditch everything else. Toss the bipod in your pack or on a belt clip, snap it on when you drop prone at 300–400 yds, done. No more banging rocks or snagging cedar limbs. Go Spartan Pro Hunt or Lite and thank me later.

I just bought the gunwerks bipod. Hopefully i get some field time with it over the holiday week, I will follow up with some feedback

Gunwerks would be an option for you. I’ve been a fan of mine. QD and fairly lightweight.
