I went from separate units years ago to a Geovid which has been working great, but now I’m going back to separate. The reason is I got a great deal on a new NL Pure binocular and I couldn’t resist.
This NL Pure may be my forever bino and separate RF’s can come and go a lot easier and cheaper as they fail or I desire a change.
I agree the combo unit is really nice, but this NL Pure is so much more ergonomic to use than my Geovid, so I’m going back to separate.
My binos are mostly used for glassing and not a lot of ranging for shooting, so for my uses the inconvenience of separate units should be minimal.
