Have a pair of Vortex Viper 12x50's and have been using them more now that it's finally getting nice out. I've noticed that if I'm hiking or hunting and pull them out of my bino harness, the rubber lens caps tend to just pop out. Even if they are sitting on a table or something at home and I pick them up, caps pop out. It just seems they never want to "seat" fully so I'm in search of some aftermarket ones.

Is there any company that makes flip ups for binos? MK Machining does (I've emailed them) but I didn't see my specific binos on their list. Picture is MK's version but what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I've always just taken mine off for use in my Bino Harness. They are a pain from every binocular manufacturer I've used. Something like what you are looking for could be nice if you're using a Rick Young Bino Harness with no protection but otherwise I think it's redundant personally.

It's more for protection against scratches and debris whether they are in the harness or sitting on my dash. I also have camera equipment with most times and that glass is in a padded insert, inside a backpack and I still keep the caps on those.

I've kept all my binoculars in an enclosed marsupial cases full time for the last 7 plus years without objective lens covers and never had an issue with scratched lenses. I get the desire to protect your optics but for me they are either being used or protected in the Marsupial case. In either situation I don't feel the need for the covers.

I used to have a flip open cover for my little Kowa spotting scope and loved it for that use case.

I'll shut up now, hopefully someone else has some feedback on options to fit your needs.
