Currently have Nikon HG 10x42, love em, side by side with friend's Swaros....I'm not missing any animals. So I like them. Almost always glass from a tripod.

I've been planning on moving to some RF binos for rifle hunting (Revic/Sig).

I archery & rifle elk hunt, and rifle hunt other stuff as well. For archery I haven't really bothered bringing binos most times, its central Idaho, and generally pretty damn thick where the elk are. And so we find them via bugle tube. If I did use binos it'd be handheld and thick timber for the most part.

Enter the Zulu6. I've read before that if you were going to use binos in a dark timber archery elk situation, that 8x42 was the ideal. So now I'm wondering if 10x image stabilizing binos wouldn't be very handy in an archery elk situation.

So I guess my question is:
1) new RF binos + tripod for rifle hunting and NO binos for archery
2) new RF binos AND zulu6's for archery

I can’t speak to RF binos. I do like the Zulu's for archery I run the 12 power. My archery elk hunting style is pretty exclusive to spot and stalk. I like the final approach with the Zulu. I went away from using a tripod as well in archery. I will say I was sold on the Zulu binos when my hunting partner became an early adopter. He was picking up animals 3-1 compared to my Maven 12x binos.
