I’ll be honest. I have NL pure but the first year I bought a pair of vortex UHD that I shared with Dad and also had the NL Pure. I was very impressed with the Vortex UHD and didn’t really want to sell them because they were so good.

Maven 12x50. Light, clear, and will save you a few hundred for other gear. If not, Sig Sauer with the range finder. I use those. They are heavy. I have a lot of optics. Big three, Vortex, Meopta, etc. For the money, Maven.

I don’t think Iv been given the authority to PM on here yet, or I just haven’t figured out how. Please PM me if you don’t mind answering questions. Thank you.

Curious why you are saying 'they are not bad'. I have the 8x42 NL Pure and they are the best binoculars i have ever looked through. Im actually looking to purchase a second set in 10x42 for those longer distance glassing days
When I mean not bad, I mean the 10x42 NL has more detail and more FOV, image from 10x42 NL was more stable, and I like it all rounder.

Call Doug! You won’t regret it… he and his team will be a tremendous help in answering questions and won’t try to just “sell you” on something you don’t want or need.
If you are new to quality binos, you are going to experience more hand shake in the 12x (as well as more weight) thank you are used to. Many find that 10x is the best option for someone with one primary pair.

Not sure I saw this mentioned yet but I would for sure go for higher quality 10s over 12s. I much prefer 10s for the stability free hand, I feel like I can see better with 10 over 12 free hand just because of how much more steady they appear to be. If i were doing a lot of glassing from a tripod, 12s may work out great.

I'd suggest a pair of used Swaro el 10x50. Maybe the bigger vortex UHDs are also great, but at least the 32s are not even close to an el
