Bino harness?? Badlands or horn hunter

Hey guys. Looking for a good harness. This will be hunting, hopefully out west as well as treestand vaca east and 3d archery. I have been looking at the badlands bino xr as well as the horn hunter op x. Anyone have any experience with either?

Horn Hunter is ok. The rubber piece that goes square on your back fell apart on mine....but, I bought it used. I upgraded to Alaska Guide Gear and I like it a lot more. Fits better, seems like it is built better also.

I have had both. I didn’t care at all for the badlands. It was cumbersome to me. I used the horn hunter for a couple years and didn’t have a lot of complaints. I liked the rangefinder system for hunting/stalking antelope. I did some modifications to the harness though. I felt it kept riding up so I made one similar to a FHF or Alaska Guide Creations. I now have both of those and like them. If I don’t want a bunch of pockets i go FHF. If I need pockets I go with AGC.

I have the XR and like it. Opening away and the magnetic closing is nice. I use the cellphone pocket on the back all the time for ready access to maps and land ownership. I really don't like systems that have the rangefinder off center and on a thinner strap that sags. It just isn't comfortable for me. There's a couple of things I don't like. I have Vortex Diamondbacks and they fit inside just fine but getting them in there is a sorta lip that you have to push them past on the edges of the bino compartment. It only rubs on the bumps where the straps attach so it may not be a problem with other binos. I did have to extend the keeper straps for the binos and the rangefinder because they were too short and pulling down with to much tension making it harder to hold them steady when looking through them. I am larger than average though so your mileage may vary with that depending on your torso/head/neck size.

I have a Horn Hunter, worked ok but rode up and I wasn't overly impressed with the fit. Could just be me. Picked up a Marsupial Gear harness this year, absolutely love it.

One of my hunting buddies has the Badlands Bino XR and he loves it. It is well made but a little bigger than i like. Have a look at the Outdoor Vision Ridgetop. It has a magnetic closure, opens away from you for easier one-handed access, and comes with a built in but removable rain fly.

I’ll throw my $.02 in on this. I originally had a AGC and sold it to try out the horn Hunter. The horn Hunter was comfortable and like someone else mentioned I liked the way you could attach the rangefinder. However when not using the rangefinder adapter my release would pull straight to that magnet. I also didn’t like the lack of storage like I had on my AGC. At the end of this deer season I sold it and purchased another AGC.

I don't know anything about the two harnesses you listed but I've been really happy with my fhf harness and rangefinder pouch combo.

Horn hunter here. Not the most ergonomic strap system but not horrible. Had mine for 3 full seasons and a few hundred miles so far. The rangefinder attachment is the major plus. Works best for me for running and gunning elk. No noise to deploy once u unhook and no pocket to find going in or coming out. Just let the magnet grab it when that bull is right on top of you.
