Bino Harness as Personal Item on Flight?

I'm flying to Fairbanks from Philthadelphia Airport on Alaska Airlines Thursday and was wondering if there would be any reason my Kuiu bino harness (with binos and rangefinder) couldn't be considered my 'personal item'? Seems similar enough to a laptop bag.

I can probably jam it in my carry on backpack but seems pointless if I don't have a personal item. All my food for 8 days is in my carry on along with powerbanks and any electronics (Inreach, packraft pump, arc lighter, AA lithium for bear fence) and the binos *could* swell the backpack (Kuiu Taku 3000) too big for carry on size. Probably not but it looks questionable with the food in it.

No reason that wouldn’t work. I always fly with mine in my carry on so no reason you can’t put it under the seat.

I put my bino harness inside my beartooth 80 haha. I use my beartooth or pintler as my carry on, never had an issue.

Oh wow haha! The Kuiu Taku 3000 dimensions on their website are a few inches bigger than what AK Air lists but it's partially designed to meet max carry on requirements. Guessing Kuiu's dimensions are if it was really stuffed full which I'm trying to avoid so my food isn't completely crushed before I get there.
