What are you looking at to determine that?

First thing that stands out to me is her flare. I see not much space between her horns, she has a bit of mass for a nanny, but still thin for a Billy. I can also see she has a bit of age from her horns and face, if it were a Billy of that age, I would expect to see a thicker nose, glands and mass.

trailcams for goats has to be one of the most esoteric outdoor activities out there.

Those are tough calls. The two together, the one on the left looks like it may have that gradual curve, but does look thin. Also looks young though, young goats can be tough to judge. The hornless goat I’m at a loss lol, I think it’s a nanny?

The single goat, I’d have to call a nanny I think without more angles.

A couple videos and photos from the cam check a couple days ago. Seen a couple Billy’s, thought I’d try my stalking skills.

Not how I expected to find one of my cams. Good thing I’d built a box for it I guess lol. Luckily it had a full 64 gigs before it blew over.

That is my main goat, more of a personal thing, but I enjoy sharing and helping others compare as well. I have 1000’s of photos and videos from over the years, goats are some of the coolest to watch interact, especially the kids!!

Now’s the time!! I’m noticing the Billy’s starting to get in close with the herds, and the hair is looking thick!!

We got out a couple weeks ago, got a friend his first Billy. Just ate the last of the back strap last night, delicious!!

yea i was gonna go out start of October with the wife but its was -10 and snowed 6" up top and she wasn't having it lol. and ill be coming out to your neck of the woods. I have a LEH, have pulled a goat out of it every time I get it ill pm you.

that's not logging landings that's all old burns. and id imagine his camera is placed on a flat plateau still probably 5500-6000ft up.

It’s a very unique spot, most locals don’t even know there’s goats here. The mountain tops out at 4500’, has cliffs around but not alot. Most goats Iv got in one photo frame is 18, most Iv counted is 30+. It’s roughly 50 air km’s to the nearest “goat mountain”.

Iv witnessed these goats 1/2 km out in the burn far away from any escape terrain, blows my mind really. Iv been setting up goat cams for 6-7 years now, never have seen a bear or wolf on cam or in person up there.

Eagles on the other hand, Iv a few handfuls of pics and vids of eagles harassing goats. Wish we could treat them like other predators.
