It was march 1st 1985. I was pheasant hunting next to Brad Little’s Emmett ranch when I jumped “Ol’ Ironside”…

I know what you’re thinking: Old Ironside??? What’s that mean?

This 235” typical muley flatland monarch took 10 shots of 12 gauge birdshot to the broadside before he finally dropped. After he was down, I had to load him in the rig quick because the sun was coming up. Will post a pic soon….

So you’re admitting to poaching, I know statute of limitations has definitely passed but still not a good look

Son, “poaching” is how the west was won. If you sayin you ain’t spotlighted ditch chickens before you’re lyin. However, this is beside the point. I am granted special hunting privileges due to my Cherokee Indian ancestory

I have never spotlighted anything, don't own and have never owned a shotgun, and don't know what a "ditch chicken" is.

Taking a deer with birdshot is just bad sportsmanship regardless of whatever special accommodations are provided for those with NA ancestry. Those "special accommodations" were not granted with the intent to allow for trophy hunting, which is what this obviously was.

10 shots of birdshot? Legal or not, this is a bad look for hunters all around. That's my opinion, everyone is welcome to theirs. I'll not argue the point.

Any chance you refer to your shotgun as the “finger of god?” And does it have a Winchester M70 as a brother? And do you own your own canyon where you hike and train year round? You remind me of a guy I was acquainted with at one point, sure do miss his quick wit and eloquent storytelling, maybe you know him?
