Well after a four year drought of letting smaller deer pass I was finally fortunate to tag this nice 11 point mature buck last night. It was a great fun hunt that all started about a month and a half ago getting a trail cam pic of him. He wasn't real consistent but at least I knew he was in the area. The last picture I had of him until now was the morning before the opener in one of my food plots. Well Lee Britt "EBBY" on here and I tried to tag team this deer the first two days to no avail. Well finally the farmer cut some corn so I moved a trail camera to one of my honey holes and at 4:30 yesterday afternoon I climbed into my stand and couldn't wait to look at my camera card. Low and behold he was there early that morning. I immediately texted my wife and told her he was close. After watching three does and two fawns for nearly two hours I heard a deer moving from behind me. Caught movement out of the corner of my eye and there a buck we called Stanley stood at 12 yards. Well one well place Steelforce phathead Broadhead through both lungs and the ready is history.
The deer field dressed 217 pounds and not that it matters but scored 145.5 gross and 135.5 net.
