Wanted to know what some of you taller gentlemen have been running bivy wise? I'm 6-3 and pretty broad across the shoulders. I would like a bivy that I can get my wide/long pad and sleeping bag in. Most of the options I have come across seem like they would be pretty tight around the shoulders.

Borah gear will make whatever size bivy you want. My Enlightened Equipment Recon bivy long wide bivy has had my 30x76 Klymit Static V Luxe in it before, and I'm a little taller than you. A regular 25" wide pad will be no issue with it at all either. Bear Paw Wilderness Designs will also do custom sized bivys.

Yeah big guy here....I stopped bivying over 20 years ago...went to a 2# 4 oz Tarptent and never looked back.......too much moisture problems with bivy's.

If you call them they will tell you what's best for your height.

+1 on the Borah bivy. They will make them whatever size you need with your height, weight, pad size ect. They don't hit you with a bunch of extra costs to do custom either. Really good people.

6’3” 250# 50” shoulders.

Email borah with your specs. They will make you exactly what you want. Have a few nights in mine and love it.

6'1" wear a 48 L suit coat and I have an outdoor research bivy that works pretty dang good. But let's be honest bivy sacks aren't always what they are cracked up to be. I've got nothing against them and have sent many a night in them but honestly...well to each their own.

this is what I still have but don't use much:

Yeah. Agree that bivys aren’t great but I prefer to sleep in the open without a tent unless (1) there are tons of bugs or (2) lots of rain. I started with a 2# USGI goretex bivy and moved to OR, SOL and a few others. Still have an OR alpine bivy and it is great kit but I haven’t used it since I bought the Borah. I pair the borah with a bit of overhead cover and can sleep pretty well in most conditions and I love the ability to spread out my stuff. Tents just feel cramped to me.
