Hey guys, I am new to the Boise Idaho area. I moved here from Bozeman Montana which has a vibrant hunting community and it is easy to surround yourself with other people who hunt seriously. Due to the city life, I’ve been struggling meeting other big game hunters that take the passion seriously.

Is there any events or places where other hunters go to hang out?

Thanks in advance.

NRL hunter competitions might be a pretty good place to find similarly minded people.

see if the mule deer foundation or RMEF is active in your area... That might be a place to start

Good call. I know the there should be some volunteer opportunities coming up sometime

If you’re an archer, Idaho State Bowhunters has a pretty robust membership. I’m not sure if they still have winter leagues, but spring shoots will be starting pretty soon.
There will be some volunteer opportunities with Idaho Fish and Game later this winter.

S&S archery is in Boise. Id guess a few serious hunters go there from time to time. Not sure its a hang out place.

Lots of hunting and shooting here in the TV, but we've never been very organized on a large scale; no nexus for gatherings other than maybe Ducks Unlimited banquets. There are groups focused on various forms of competition. We've had numerous starts of local gun fora, but they don't last long. Perhaps with all the new hunters and shooters in our valley, a well-publicized organization might work?
