Big Foot heck, why not ask people likely to have seen one.

Has anybody here seen big foot? Or know someone is convinced they have?

I figure the demographic here would be most likely to have stories or non stories about said creature.

My SF buddy swears he saw one in western NC during a land nav exercise. He wasn't the only guy in his SF group to see it either. I have no reason not to believe him. The story keeps me out of the hollows for a while every time he tells it.

....because they don't want a bunch of hunters making fun of them for asking about a myth.

If you can dig up the Joe Rogan podcast with Jim Shockey on it...they get into some of this. Bottom line- if a breeding population of Sasquatch was prowling the mountains of the west...one of us would have shot one by now.

Joe Rogan was talking on one of his podcasts and mentioned how Bigfoot sightings used to be all the time along with UFOs and other unexplained things. Since the age of cell phones with the ability to snap a pic at anytime, and all the trailcams and so forth, the sightings have been none. At least in my world.

On Rinella's first appearance on The JRE, Joe asks him about bigfoot and Rinella gives a very long somewhat loaded pause and says its all BS... IF Rinella did see one Im betting he has enough sense not to publicly talk about it. People might not take him seriously OR you would have thousands of hunters heading to the hills looking to bag one of these rare critters on the Meateater's tip.

Stayed at a state park one time where they hosted a Bigfoot seminar. After some campfire drinks thought it might be entertaining to attend. The guy giving the seminar explained that those piles of rocks you see out in the woods from time to time are where Bigfoot buries their dead. Not work from old homesteads, but Bigfoot graves. The guy just didn't have the work ethic to ever dig one up I guess....He also said that Bigfoots are getting call-wise to tree knocks. The good outcome of it is he made a NON-believer out of my son who used to be scared to death of Bigfoot.

I remember being on a hayride when i was a kid. A couple of us looked over and saw a head pop up out of the brush in the distance. Then it stood there staring at us for a second as we sat there moutha probably wide open. It took off towards us in a sprint and one of the other kids was able to muster up a few words. One of the adults broke out into laughter and bigfoot waved at us and went back to his hiding spot for the next group.

People like to say "there are remote areas that people still haven't explored"...which just isn't true (at least in the lower 48 where most sightings occur).

Roksliders know better than most just how hard it is to actually get away from people. It's really hard to find places more than a mile or two from a road, and when you get there you still run into other people. There is nowhere to hide any more, and trail cameras compound this. Bigfoot is fun to imagine, but absolutely fake.

A paper was published ~6 years ago that showed that the distribution of Bigfoot sightings matched the distribution of black bear almost perfectly.

Rinella has said multiple times that bigfoot is BS with pretty solid reasoning...where's its shit? If you've got some giant ape thing running around, it's gotta take a crap. People find animal crap and look at it to know what it came from. No bigfoot crap, no bigfoot.

Food for thought, grizzly bears were eradicated from CO in the 40's not a single verifiable sign and no carcasses since then yet in 79 a guide was mauled and killed a sow.

I like to believe there is still a small number of CO grizz but all expeditions to find any has turned up Bigfoot like sightings and not a single verifiable sign they are there. I'm not saying Bigfoot is real but I can see where an animal can learn to live in the shadows and not be seen.

Read the book Ghost Grizzlies, it's a good read and many still believe there are grizzlies in CO.

Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Mothman, Leprechuans, ufo's and whatever other mythical things people claim to have seen live on because those who tell of them have told the stories which are obviously lies and now can't tell the truth.
You would think if any of them were real there would have been some kind of actual evidence found by now, not some fuzzy, shaky video.
