Biden Administration urges Supreme court to let cops enter homes and seize guns without a warrant

This is why your sheriff is the most important election you will vote in. There is a reason he is an elected official and not appointed, as he carries the same weight as any other elected official and reports directly to the citizens. He has complete legal jurisdiction over his county and it's up to him to keep the shit from rolling down hill.

Which is the exact reason King County (where Seattle is) in Washington state just switched their Sheriff's dept from elected to appointed. The inmates are running the asylum...

Let's see.... Cops would basically be breaking and entering a home. Home is owned by someone we know is armed. Ya, what could wrong? Imagine being the cops showing up to do this? "Joe, why don't you go first? No, you go. I mean you have seniority and you are older than me. I insist. Okay, then rocks, paper, scissors. Best two out of three."

That is going to backfire gloriously. They wanted a 'yes' man as the top law officer in their county. Good luck with that!

how do game wardens (state police in Texas) skirt around the 4th Amendment, they are a walking warrant, curiosity is probable cause, they confiscate guns, animals/fish

I’m no expert but I believe it’s a combination of “open field doctrine” (cops don’t need a warrant to LOOK at your house, and if you’re doing something illegal out in the open they can come arrest you) and a sort of “you are hunting/fishing so that gives me probable cause to ask for ID and license” mentality.

Some have tried that in NM with people I know and they (game wardens) have lost.

The only way I could see, and sketchy at best, is that a game law is a state law and not codified in the U.S Constitution. Game is state owned, not federally owned. However, private property is still just that and a protected right...

Those would be some brave police officers indeed.
Naw... they wouldn't be brave. Not at all. They'd most likely FlashBang the snot outta the household first. Wouldn't be surprised if they were given the go ahead to pump incapacitating inhalants into the homes first.

After the first house word will get our quick and all the guns will "disappear or be stolen" overnight. Or the real crazies will be setting there ready and waiting with a boobie trapped house and it will go wild west real quick.

The reality is, most will comply. On one hand they have their wife, kids, family, livelihood, etc; on the other are some guns. It will be an easy choice for most. How hard was is to gain compliance with a virus? Not at all.
