the wolf lovers know this happens. I was in CO a few weeks ago and heading into REI to get some fuel for my stove and a guy in front of the store stopped me to ask if I was a CO voter. I said no but why? He was getting signatures on a petition to reintroduce wolves into CO. I asked why would you want that? His answer was "to decrease the elk and deer populations!" He said they were causing erosion in the waterways and this would help that!!!!!

Until the wolf eats their pet or child many non-hunters will not understand the full danger of reintroducing wolves in the first place. They are a danger to livestock too, not just as far as killing them but they also torment them and ultimately cause the livestock to loose weight which is money lost to the owners. The folks who want to reintroduce them ought to be required to spend a couple weeks in the woods in a area depleted by wolf deprevation without any weapons. Let them spend a few nights in a tent with wolves howling around them. I suspect they would change their tune real quick.

I was reading up on the group that's doing the petition for reintroduction in Colorado. Was really surprised to see that they use the Yellowstone elk heard stats since reintroduction in their literature as an argument for their side.

Never said it was. Please don't put words in my mouth.

I presume wolves and elk are both native to Idaho however. Correct? If that's true, then they have co-existed for thousands of years before humans ever intervened.

You made a statement I asked a question. Pretty simple really.
The McKenzie river Valley strain of wolves that were introduced were never here.
