Best value .224 bullets for reloading in a trainer 223 bolt action

Unfortunately the 80s are out of stock. Otherwise, I would have loaded up! That was a great deal.
Watch for them to come back in stock as they sell a TON of those bullets. Although I haven’t bought from them since they’ve switched the website away from “22Creedmoor.com”. So I guess there’s a chance they don’t restock as often as they used to.

Awhile back I bought a ton of American bullet company 75gr BTHP. I think they are factory second hornady. Around 13c/bullet. Paired that with leverevolution, starline brass, cheap primers. Shoots about 1.5” for 10 in my tikka, good enough BC to take it to 600-700 yards at sea level. My goal was cheapest decent shooting load possible.

I’d look into factory seconds as bullets are the most expensive part of the cartridge…and for a .223 especially the most expensive part per round fired.
Seconds on this, I bought a bunch of their 77 grain tipped seconds when they had them and Sierra wasn’t selling the TMK. Just gotta get around to reloading them….

I snagged 1500 of those bad boys a couple of years back. I haven't got around to loading them yet, but I'm slowly chipping away at my TMK stash. Only a few hundred more and I'll crack open the first 500 ct box.
