BEST Tripod ball heads for shooting?

My anvil 30 got grabby too. They all need maintenance. But, it’s best for shooting. I sold it though.

For shooting and glassing I like the Leofoto MH style and have stuck with it for a couple years and won’t be changing.

I really like the lever style head. Did it take a bit to get used to the MH style?

For shooting, Anvil 30 is the premium option. I think it’s workable for glassing, but slower and difficult to get the tension set perfect. I have an Anvil 30 that has thousands of rounds on it, been tipped over on concrete, shot in all kinds of weather, hunted with, etc and still running strong. You can take the anvil off the ball and clean everything out if it’s too dusty and starts to stick which isn’t very often.
