Debating on a new tripod head setup for 2026, specifically something that can be servicable in both shooting and glassing. Leaning towards the Wiser BT-20 but curious if anyone has played with the Outdoorsmans Gen 2 Pistol Grip w/ the pan-head attachement? Pricier setup obviously but exhibits a ball head that can tilt, and lock, off axis for leveling a rifle. Would appreciate any feedback y'all who have used one might have.

I would not shoot a high recoiling rifle or beyond 350ish yards off the pistol grip.

IMO, the best head for both (without compromising for shooting) is a motorcycle handle MH model by Leofoto. I can run it with the handle pointing away from me to control glassing and pointing to the weak side for shooting.

Any potential downsides to be aware of for glassing with MH Leofotos from your experience?

The tension works good while on the glass. If you walk away, lock it down.

It’s not perfect, but it works the best for those that also want a strong shooting head.
